Take a look at the gallery. 12 people, 2 cakes, litres and litres of squash, and more than 10 bags of logs, and a much tidier wood! Thank you to all who came, and if you want some logs there are a few leftover. Contact us to sort out a time if you want to collect unseasoned hardwood logs (perfect for next winter!) Full bags are £5 each – and you get to keep the bag!
FREE event! Join us in Hammer for a Logs4Labour woodland workout.
Saturday 24 May at 10am – 2ish.
We are delighted to be invited to Marshlands by Jo and Matt – they even have a new bridge to replace the one washed away in the deluge last month.
About the wood – it was once part of the Weald Ironworks known as ‘Pophole Hammer’. Although some evidence of the ironworks can be seen, the area has returned back to native woodland. 2.5 acres of native deciduous trees such as oak, willow, beech, lime, hazel & birch. We will be helping clear and manage the woods.
Logs available for a donation (to keep the scheme running) at the end.
Also Really Useful Log Bags £3 each.
- Bring gloves, wear boots and bring loppers if you have them, (we will have some tools to borrow).
- Drinks and cakes provided, please bring a packed lunch.
- And…waterproofs – the forecast is not great.
See you there!
